Cogent Skills Process Safety Management for Operations (PSMO)

The Process Safety Management for Operations (PSMO) is a 2-day Course designed to provide essential process safety training to the industry standard. Delegates will focus on site specific hazards and control measures, how they apply to them, and demonstrate how they contribute to keeping the site safe.

This course has been specifically designed to provide your operators, maintenance technicians and long-term contractors with a clear understanding of the principles of process safety in the context of the site they work on.

Course Content

  1. The hazards, risks and consequences associated with hazardous substances and processes.
  2. The hazards, consequences and safeguards in the specific process or plant you operate or maintain.
  3. How to keep the process safe - the role of operations (Operator & Maintenance) in ensuring effective process safety.
  4. Emergency planning and the need for effective measures to limit the consequences of process incidents.
  5. The role of operations in applying learning from incidents and near misses.
